FC Barcelona might be having a rather torrid time on and off the pitch as things stand at the moment, however gamers can look to escape the reality and turn their attention to taking the club to glory in a virtual sense.

Indeed, with the annual FIFA video game series set to hit the shelves in the near future, fans will be desperate to know how their favourite stars rank. Of course, the enjoyment that can be received from knowing that the club has some of the best players in the game can be much like the same emotions felt when using betting sites to try and potentially win some money on the action.

Barcelona fans will be delighted that 10 of their players feature in the top 100 within FIFA 21 and it is perhaps no surprise that they have who the game considers to be the world’s best player at the moment.

Lionel Messi – 93 Overall

Of course, Lionel Messi has been ranked as the number one player in the game this season, although he did see his overall rating drop by 1 point from his 94 rating in the previous edition. It seems strange to argue about a -1 drop but when 25 goals are scored and a further 21 are assisted, it seems strange. Perhaps his decision to try and leave Barcelona played a role?

Marc-Andre ter Stergen – 90 Overall

Considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in the game, Marc-Andre ter Stergen received a rating of 90 – only 1 point behind Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak as the best in the game.

Luis Suarez – 87 Overall

The Uruguayan may be controversial at times, but there is no denying his goalscoring ability. The South American – who looks to be on his way out of the Camp Nou – continues to find the back of the net, despite entering the twilight years of his career.

Antoine Griezmann – 87 Overall

Level with Suarez, Antoine Griezmann sits on an 87 rating for FIFA 21 after a difficult first season at Barcelona. He still managed to provide some decent showings, but more will be expected.

Sergio Busquets – 87 Overall

An individual who makes everything look so effortless, Sergio Busquets is also handed a rating of 87. Ever important for Blaugrana, the Spanish midfielder will remain as one of the best in his position.

Jordi Alba – 86 Overall

Arguably one of the best and most consistent full-backs to have ever played football, Jordi Alba is the sixth Barcelona player to feature in the top 100 players of FIFA 21.

Gerard Pique – 86 Overall

A legendary figure for Barcelona, Gerard Pique will be one of the hardest men to replace when he does eventually hang up his boots.

Clement Lenglet – 85 Overall

Speaking of potential long-term replacements, perhaps 85-rated Clement Lenglet will be more than adequate enough to replace the Spaniard. The France international has been exceptional and can continue to bring his quality to Barcelona for a long period of time.

Frenkie de Jong – 85 Overall

The Dutchman is considered to be one of the most exciting talents in the whole of football and will want to build on his first season at the Camp Nou. Frenkie de Jong can play in the midfield and defence, therefore providing players with a number of options.

Miralem Pjanic – 85 Overall

Barcelona new-boy, Miralem Pjanic rounds off the club’s top 10 and is listed in the top 100 players on FIFA 21. Whether the former Juventus man can solidify his place in the Catalan’s side and make everyone aware as to why he was signed this summer remains to be seen, but there will be plenty of expectation around what he can do.
