Football is the most popular sport worldwide. The game has been evolving, and many teams are now competing. FC Barcelona has always stood out from the rest of the football clubs. Among these teams, FC Barcelona is one of the favourite teams of football fans on online betting platforms such as

You’ve probably seen a few of its football players like Messi, Neymar, and Pique. Yes, they’re fabulous, but apart from them, there are many things about this club that you don’t know. So, here are some fun facts about FC Barcelona for you to discover.

FC Barcelona is more than simply a football team

The only three teams, Real Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, and FC Barcelona, have never been relegated from La Liga, the illustrious Spanish premier division. FC Barcelona was one of the league’s original members.

The club’s identity expanded throughout the first 20 years of its existence to become much more than merely a football club. This was made more apparent when the club switched from Castilian to Catalan as its official language. Joining the club thus became a political statement rather than just a way to assist the organisation.

Thus, “Mes Que Un Club,” which means “More Than A Club,” is the club’s slogan.

A famous player has his statue near Camp Nou

In June 1950, one of the top athletes in Europe joined FC Barcelona. László Kubala, a Hungarian, finally rose to the status of one of FC Barcelona’s greatest heroes.

He has been immortalised as a reward with a statue just outside Camp Nou, much as some of Manchester United’s most illustrious players have statues outside Old Trafford.

The club was founded through a newspaper ad

Who would have thought that one of the most significant sporting organisations in the world was founded as a result of a single individual placing an advertisement in a newspaper? That is indeed what took place! Hans Gamper, a Swiss football fan, advertised his plans to start a new team on October 22, 1899, in the Spanish daily “Los Deportes.” After all, he had already established FC Zürich in his native nation three years prior.

The advertisement was effective because many local football players and aficionados attended a gathering on November 29, 1899, in Gimnasio Solé. In this location, FC Barcelona was founded.

All in all, FC Barcelona is one of the best clubs in the world. With their glorious history and amazing team, they’ve earned their fame.
